After immigration and formalities, slowly moving to proceed for our day tour, meet and greet our local tour guide to travel north to the Cliffs of Moher, rising over 700 feet and reaching out the coast for five miles. Continue to Galway City for sightseeing. Overnight in Galway. (L/D) D3/APR21 GALWAY - CONNEMARA After breakfast, we will start our journey through the wild and rugged land of Connemara. Visit KylemoreAbbey, monastic home of the Benedictine Nuns before returning to Galway for an overnight. (B/L/D) D4/APR22 CONNEMARA - KNOCK Leave this morning and travel north to Knock Shrine, Ireland's place of pilgrimage. (B/L/D) D5/APR23 KNOCK (IRELAND) - LONDON (FLY) Check out from the hotel for our flight to London. Visit the St. Paul’s Cathedral. A Cathedral dedicated to St. Paul has overlooked the City of London since 604 A.D. The current Cathedral – the fourth to occupy this site – was designed by the court architect Sir Christopher Wren and built between 1675 and 1710 after its predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. Following your visit to St Paul’s, you will cross the river Thames to visit Southwark Cathedral. Southwark Cathedral is a parish church which became a cathedral early this century. St. Swithin of weather fame founded a convent on the site which later became a monastery. Henry VIII's closure of the priory led to the main building becoming the parish church. (B/L/D) D6/APR24 LONDON This morning, you will enjoy a cruise on the Thames passing many London landmarks such as Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and HMS Belfast before arriving at the Tower of London. The Tower has been an integral part of British history for 1000 years. Here, you will meet the famous ‘Beefeaters’, marvel at the breathtaking Crown Jewels, stand on the execution site of three English queens and hear the myths and legends that make a visit to the Tower ‘a must’ for any visitor to London. Enjoy your very long travel and the sights and scenery of France. See the Majestic Arch de Triomphe, Champs Elysee. Visit the Chapel of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, where the body of St. Catherine Labourewhom the Blessed Mary appeared with her eyes raised to heaven, presenting to God, the Globe of the world, surmounted by a small cross and representing the entire world and each one of us. Now she is represented as Mary standing on the globe with rays falling from her eyes, they represent the graces Mary showers on those who ask her for them, she is crushing the serpent; the symbol of evil, surrounding her head is a crown of twelve stars as she is the Mother of the Church. We will visit to the Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul to see the well preserved skeleton covered with wax on the face and hands. His heart was taken and is now in the Chapel of Daughters of Charity. See the Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame with its stained glass windows. Continue to the airport for our flight to Rome. (B/L/D) D9/APR027 ROME (CANONIZATION EVENT) Early morning 5:00am transfer to Vatican to witness the historic Canonization of Blessed Pope john Paul II at the Saint Peter’s Square by His Holiness, Pope Francis I. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Rome on your own. and do your souvenir shopping. (B/L/D) D10/APR28 ROME - CLASSICAL W/ VATICAN MUSEUM Enjoy our whole day in Rome visiting the Vatican City, VaticanMuseum, Spanish Steps, Basilica of St. Paul the Santa Croce in Gerusalemethen we will also continue to see Rome’s classic Churches such as the impressive Basilicas of San Giovanni de Laterano(nearby is the Scala Santa or Holy Stairs), Santa Maggiore, Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. Check in to your hotel. (B/L/D) D11/APR29 ROME — ASSISI—FLORENCE Panoramic tour to The Renaissance City. Visit the tomb of St. Francis. Explore the quaint hilltop birthplace of St Francis. that still retains something of the atmosphere of the early 1200s, the period when St Francis began his ministry. It was in St Mary of the Angels Basilica where St Francisspent most of his life. Here we visit the Chapel, Portiuncola, the rose bush, and the cave where the saint retired for prayer. We go now to the Church of St Clareto see the saint's incorrupt body, the foundress of the Order of Poor Clares. Continue to Florence, see the highlights of this beautiful city including the Basilica de Santa Croce (Holy Cross), housing the tombs of Michelangelo and Galileo and the famous two chapels with their fabulous frescoes. Visit St. Catherine of the Lower Basilica of St. Francis with pre-arranged Holy Mass. see also the Church of St. Clare and St. Mary of the Angels Basilica.(B/L/D) D12/APR30 FLORENCE—PISA— MILAN Depart for the town of Pisa, with the main attraction is the Leaning Tower, situated near Piazza deiMiracoli (Square of Miracles). Within this complex we also see the gothic chapel Cathedral of Santa Maria Assuntaand the Camposanto cemetery. We will be seeing the National museum of San Matteo. Proceed to Milan. (B/L/D) D13/MAY01 MILAN Visit the Cathedral of Duomo di Milano, the 2ND largest cathedral of the world and the world’s largest collection of marble statues with the widely visible golden Madonna statue on top of the spire, la Madunina (little Madonna), the symbol of Milan. At the opposite end is the famous TeatroalllaScala (or la Scala) one of the world’s most famous opera house. Nearby is the church of Santa Maria della Grazie, on whose refectory wall Leonardo da Vinci painted the world’s most famous picture, The Last Supper.
